Marian was born in Columbia,SC and baptized at Holy Cross Episcopal Church near Stateburg, SC. Holy Cross is the first Episcopal church in SC. Marian’s grand and great grand fathers were baptized there also. When she was 12 her family moved from Columbia, South Carolina, to Dallas,Texas. She graduated from North Dallas HS in 1965. She attended St Thomas. In 1967 she married David Flowers and celebrated 43 years until his death on Dec 31, 2009. They were two children. I worked as a speech /language pathologist from 1972 until 2010. My parents were charter members of St Justin’s in Canton. In 2010, Marian moved from Canton to Gun Barrel City. A friend brought Marian to St James. At St. James, Marian met Ray Brown and they have been together 14 years. Marian was the vestry clerk for 15 years, she has been on the vestry twice, a member of DOK, and leads the Blanket Ministry. She has attended St James since 2010. Home sweet home.
